Greg Kolpien
Council President, Liaison to Evangelism, Media & Service

My family and I have been attending Bay View for about 10 years. I’ve been helping out with youth ministries with my kids, participating in adult forums, and serving around the edges where I can. I originally joined Bay View because I found the theological beliefs of the ELCA appealing, and found the people here genuine and authentic. I look forward to helping the church council keep Bay View a vibrant and appealing place for new attendees as well as long-time members. I work at Bay Ship full time, while attend- ing classes at NWTC part time, and enjoy photography, camping and the outdoors.

Steve Kase
Council Council Vice President & Liaison to Property

I moved in Sturgeon Bay to practice law and joined Bay View in 1986 when I married Wendy Goetsch, a long time member of the congregation. I have raised four children and they have blessed me with seven grandchildren. I have served on church council several times and several committees including youth, worship, and sharing boards over the years and a member of our choir for more than 30 years. I was also very pleased to be a member of the call committee that brought Pastor Tim to our church ten years past.

Karen Newbern
Council Member & Liaison to Youth

I’m excited to be joining the church council this year, serving as Secretary and Liaison to the Service Board. My husband Bruce and I joined Bay View when we moved to Sturgeon Bay in 2000. We have three daughters and two adorable grandsons. My involvement here has been mostly musical, first singing in choir and now with the contemporary music group, Bay View Power and Light. I work seasonally in the retail area at Door Landscape and Nursery in Carlsville, a company specializing in the use of native prairie and woodland plants. Since I’ve worked as a naturalist for over 30 years, I hope to explore opportunities to involve members in environmental awareness and action projects.

Dawn Corbisier
Council Member & Liaison to Worship

I’m Dawn Corbisier and I have been a member of Bay View since 1991. In the past I have participated in Sunday school and confirmation classes for my two children Kelsey Konrad and Kyle Konrad. I’ve also spent many years on the Altar Guild with some very wonderful women. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my children and their significant others, my beautiful granddaughter Stella Rose, and my evil dachshund Koda. I now look forward to a new adventure participating on the church council and am thankful for the opportunity.

Al Wittenberg
Council Member & Liaison to Personnel

Al Wittenberg joined Bay View in 1983. His wife, Vicki and their son Rob- ert are also members. Al confesses his faith has been heavily tested by his father’s death and Vicki’s illnesses, but remains solid and strong. Al also proclaims his love for Bay View and his commitment to be here until the day he dies!

Renee McAllister
Council Secretary & Liaison to Learning

I have been a Bayview member for about 18 years. My wedding was at Bay View and attended regularly. My husband, William and his family attended Bayview for many years. When our children were born we had all three of them baptized at Bay View. Willie and I have three children, two girls Alexis, Sophia, and one boy, Kane. As our family grew I became more involved with committees and Sunday school. In children’s ministry I have been involved for about 13 years; from teaching Sunday school, to ushering, to helping with summer bible camp and being a confirmation teacher. I was given the opportunity to be on council and joined. Bay View has become an
extended family to me.

Karen Isensee
Council Member & Liaison to Sharing

My church roots are in Bay View: baptism, Sunday School, confirmation, and marriage to Kerry. But I branched out and was away for most of my adult life, working as a librarian and teacher in Minnesota, Missouri, Arizona, and then a different part of Minnesota, living in national and state parks where Kerry worked. We have two grown children, Karl and Kristen (married to Jason), and a granddaughter, Penny. Since retiring in 2012, we have lived back “home,” in the Hainesville area, very close to the farm I grew up on. As a council member, I look forward to serving and to knowing better our Bay View church family.
