The pandemic has been tough on everyone, and we sense the children of Bay View may be feeling a bit disconnected from church. Though many of them have the opportunity to participate in virtual Sunday School, Confirmation and some social offerings, they don’t get to see many of the adult members, or even kids of different age groups.
Thrivent has approved our create-a-card project to help let the children know that their Bay View family still thinks about them and cares about them. We are sending an Easter card to every child connected to Bay View from birth to 18 years of age.
Beginning on Sunday February 21st, there will be bags with card kits in the black bin outside the church entrance. Each bag will contain supplies to create 3 cards. The bags are also divided into age groups, so you know what age children you are creating cards for.
Unlike the Christmas card project, these finished cards need to be returned to church by March 14th. Because the cards are going to children, the names and addresses are kept confidential. The cards will be mailed through church.
So, please take a kit or two. There will be more instructions in it but basically all you have to do is create. Feel free to add your own touches with color or embellishments you may have.
What a great way to remind the children of their Bay View family. And how fun to find a card in their mailbox just for them.
Have fun and thank you.
