Myself and my wife and our 3 children relocated to Sturgeon Bay from Chesapeake, VA after I retired from the U.S. Coast Guard with over 20 years of service. We joined Bay View in the early fall of 1987. My wife taught Sunday School for several years starting in the early 90’s. I worked at Palmer Johnson Yachts for 20 years and retired again in fall of 2010. Our children have grown up and have families of their own, giving us 4 grandchildren (3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter). I am active in AMVETS (National Veterans organization) and was the AMVETS Department of Wisconsin, Department Commander 2016-2017. Currently I am the Assistant Executive Director of the AMVETS Department of Wisconsin, 3rd District Commander and Commander of AMVETS Post 51 Sturgeon Bay. I am involved in serving the Veterans in Door County and Wisconsin. I am also a member of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association, Portsmouth, VA Chapter.
I am currently the church council president and the liaison to property. Also, I usher and read the lessons when scheduled. In my free time I feed the birds and the deer, watching the wildlife in my rural setting, along with deer hunting and just relaxing, and going around Wisconsin for AMVETS functions associating with fellow veterans, and my immediate family.

Val Mosgaller
Council Vice-President & Liaison to Worship
My husband and I have been members of Bay View since 1991. We have three married daughters and nine grandchildren. When our daughters were young I was involved In both Sunday School and Confirmation. I retired from Door County Public Heath in 2018 and am now enjoying helping out at church, working part time and spending time with family and friends. I am the liaison to the Worship Committee and have been on that committee since Delane Jome approached me shortly after I joined the church.

Council Treasurer and Liaison to Service
My husband and I moved to Sturgeon Bay in 1994 & have been members of Bay View since then. We have 2 sons and I was involved in teaching Sunday School & mentoring Confirmation classes. I was involved in the initiation of the Rotational Sunday School program & tasked with painting many of the rooms in the Education wing. I have previously served on the Youth & Learning Board & Church Council. Currently I’m liaison to the Service Board & am active in a Christ Care Bible study group.
After retiring from the hospital, I do volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and the ADRC. I serve on the executive board for Door County Home & Community Education Association.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, gardening, cooking, hiking, biking, and spending time with friends.
Misty Michaud
Council Secretary & Liaison to Administration
Misty Sue Schauske-Langrick-Michaud has attended Bay View Lutheran Church all her life. She was baptized there as an infant and attended bible school and was Confirmation at Bay View. She became a member of the Church Council in 2023 and is currently the Council Secretary. Misty chose Evangelism and Media as her Mission Board because she enjoys speaking with others about Christ and hopes she can lead those to Him who don’t have Him in there lives. She is most delighted to have had the opportunity (with the help of many others) to represent Bay View by having a booth at Pride Fest the last 2 years.

Gib Carollo
Liaison to Fellowship
Door County has always been a special place for me. As a child I came up here often with my parents to enjoy the scenery and of course ice cream at Wilsons. I spent a lot of time in Fish Creek 20 years ago as a friend of mine had a sailboat at the marina. Enjoying the sunsets with a coffee from Blue Horse was our evening ritual. Those were times I will always treasure. So, when I had the chance to move here, I took it.
I moved here in July of 2020 with my 11-year-old yellow lab. Unfortunately, she crossed the rainbow bridge not long after. I now have an almost 4-year-old yellow lab named Morgan. She is quite the character. I have made many friends here and have never regretted the move. I have 1 daughter, Megan. She is an attorney in Green Bay. We travel together often. Last year we went to Egypt. It was the trip of a lifetime.
I was a teacher for 35 years in the Green Bay School District. I do some tutoring in Sister Bay and am a Reading Buddy at Sunrise school. Both are very rewarding experiences.
I joined Bay View Church just this past year and have gotten more involved than I thought I would but I love every minute of it. I am a member on the Fellowship Mission Board and enjoy doing the Sunday Morning Coffee Hour. I have also gotten involved with Dinner with Friends. I am grateful for all the new friendships I have made at Bay View and hope to be here for many years to come.

I joined Bay View Lutheran Church shortly after I moved to Sturgeon Bay in
2009. I have enjoyed using my gifts as an artist to serve the church over
the years. Some of the artistic projects I’ve worked on are: bulletin covers,
Sunday School art classes, “arts in service” workshops, altar decorations,
and the meditation garden for our community. I’m honored to be a new
member of the Church Council, and I’m looking forward to what comes
next!
